Statement

EVOLUTION OF THE THIRD EDITION

Since its creation, the Foodculture days platform has been a space where life could be reinvented thanks to the energy brought in by artists, researchers, farmers, producers and curious people during the events. Where the world is reshaped through multidisciplinary projects and notably the arts, addressing urgent societal and ecological issues related to food and everything that surrounds it (soil, seeds, resources, people, know-how). Where the experience that is offered is not limited to an aesthetic experience but is defined, above all, as an exercise in deep ecology, a critical, humane experience of sharing.

This is why we have decided to transform the third edition of Foodculture days, in order to guarantee a healthy and quality experience for the public, the artists and the team of the biennial in these pandemic times.

The third edition of Foodculture days will take place in two distinct and comple- mentary chapters: a first radio chapter, entitled Only the crumbs shall be kept..., will take place from November 26 to 29, 2020, in collaboration with the web-radio Radio 40 from Lausanne. Foodculture days will also have a daily take-away offer, regional products and other tasty ingredients (fermentation, kimchi, matcha cheese cake, etc.) cooked by Elisa da Prato (IT) , Ayumi Saito (JP) and Melanie Wehrli (MU). The menu is available under "Program" page. The second chapter will take place from May 27-30 2021, with the presentation of the works scheduled in person.

With these two chapters, we wish to keep the space for dialogue, exchange, and reflection open and accessible to as many people as possible in the hope of fin- ding moments of togetherness and of conviviality in the near future. In these times where crises overlap, we consider the digital space, in which our web-radio will happen, a place where new ways of remaining connected to each other can be (re) invented, while embracing an exceptional situation that invites us to slow down and take the time to question the world.

Chapter I: Only the crumbs shall be kept... from November 26 to 29 2020:

Radio 40 will welcome the participants of the third edition of foodculture days (artists, activists, researchers, chefs and thinkers) from November 26 to 29, 2020 and will offer four days of conversations, sound creations, readings, interviews, podcasts and playlists in connection with the biennial, thus maintaining a space for dialogue, exchange, reflection and protest open and accessible to all. The full program will be released shortly.

We would like to thank our participants, partners and the entire foodculture days team for their commitment and generosity, as they have continuously showed understanding, flexibility, benevolence and solidarity.

We are looking forward to meeting you again.
